It is amazing how a simple message can brighten up your entire day. So I was already having a pretty good day, but then I got a text from Sandy saying "come home now! we all miss you soooo much! Claire has been talking about you all night." Seeing that just made me happy, to know I'm missed and thought about while I'm gone. And for a split second, I actually thought about packing up and leaving early for Easter break haha! But I've just got to keep pushing through these last couple days, it'll be worth it in the end! So I got my big biology test out of the way today. It was nice to get that over with..I felt as though it was a tough test, but not as bas as it could have been...damn life cycles of fungi and plants...I'm so glad we're moving on to kingdom Animalia! We started watching Supersize Me in Wellness class today...I haven't seen the movie yet, and yeah, I find the movie to be very interesting. I got so much accomplished tonight...I finished writing my speech for Wednesday, did my religion worksheet, and printed off all the psychology lecture outlines for the rest of the year...and I finished in time to watch The Hills finale (a guilty pleasure show ha!). Well, I'm off to read...I'm hoping to finish up the book I'm reading... Current Location: my dorm room Current Mood: touched Current Music: Everytime It Rains-Charlotte Martin

Nothing too much going on right now... Classes today weren't too bad..I just have psychology and religion on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I had a religion test today (a friend and I studied for THREE hours last night for it). It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, hopefully I did as well I think I did! I had work today. It was mine and my coworker Brittany's lesson plan. Our theme for the day was obviously Valentine's Day. The way the program works is everyday we have a different theme and then we have a writing activity and a game that goes with that theme. So, at the beginning I'm talking about different Valentine's Day stories, and one of them was how way back when, unmarried women would place love notes in an urn and then unmarried men would choose a note from the urn and would have to be partners with the woman for the rest of the day. After I told that story, one of the boys raised his hand, with a terrified look on his face, and said "Thats not our activity for the day is it?!" haha! It was too cute! The writing activity for the day was to make an acrostic poem out of the word "heart"...they came up with some pretty good stuff! I talked to my mom last night for quite awhile. She was talking about all the home improvement stuff she wants to do. She wants to do a lot of stuff on our deck and in our backyard...it made me really excited for summer. She also talked about redoing my room, which I think definitely needs to be done. Plus, I need to go through all my stuff, considering I've acquired a lot of new things being away at college...aww I can't wait for April! So awhile ago, I decided to join the 50bookchallenge community. The main goal is to read 50 books in one year. However, being in college has seriously hindered the amount of time I get to read (well, things other than text books haha). I'm off to a slow start but I know that once April rolls around and I'm done with classes, I'll be able to catch up! And...the first book I've completed in 2007 was Wicked by Gregory Maguire. All in all, I thought the book was very interesting. At times, it was a little long winded, but it wasn't bad enough to make me stop reading (which I would never do anyway, once I start a book, I have to finish it, no matter how terrible it is!). The overall concept of the book was brilliant, and definitely provided a new perspective on the whole Wizard of Oz story. Maguire has quite the imagination! Also, I was surprised at some of the...dirtier parts of the book. The Wizard of Oz was a book I read when I was younger so to see some very adult content in the book kind of caught me off guard haha! However, being someone that doesn't usually enjoy reading fantasy books, I found Wicked to be pretty good...and I'm looking into reading more of Maguire's stuff. Well I'm back at school! Christmas break was a lot of fun...definitely a much needed break. One of my favorite days had to be when I went dress shopping with Sandy..I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Also, the weekend I got to babysit the girls was tons of fun, especially since we got a HUGE snowstorm that weekend and we spent a lot of time playing outside. But as much fun as that was...I was kind of excited to get back to school and finish up the school year. I have a feeling that this semester is going to go by extremely fast. I just have to stay really focused, give my all, and keep my eye on the prize...being at home for the summer! I really like my classes this semester...well, except for two.. Mondays and Wednesdays I have my biology lecture in the morning, I don't think that class is going to be too hard, its just a lot of memorizing which I can handle. After that, I have oral communications. I'm really not too thrilled about that class...I think the thing I'm most dreading is the fact that we get recorded giving our speeches and then we have to self-critique...I'm not looking forward to that! The last class I have on Mon and Wed is my biology lab. Again, I think that will be pretty easy, plus my section only has 13 students in it which is nice. Tuesdays and Thursdays I start out the day with my psychology class. I absolutely LOVE that class! I just find everything about psychology to be extremely interesting. Plus my professor is really cool. He actually isn't a regular professor at the college, he's a practicing psychologist at a psychiatric hospital in Fargo. He works mostly with children and teenagers and he has tons of interesting stories. I'm really thinking about minoring in psychology. After psychology I have religion. I really don't like that class. The class is a lot of work, plus my professor is leading a trip in South Africa in May, which hey, thats really cool..but everything in your class should not be about religion in South Africa. Hopefully the class will get better... Other than that..not too much going on. Its been a pretty low key weekend. I'm actually ahead on all of my homework which is really great. I talked to Sandy today...she said that her and the girls were walking down to Sandy's grandma's house and they were walking by where my car is always parked when I'm there and Nat said "Mom, I wish the snow plow hadn't gone by because then I'd still be able to see Amber's footprints in the snow"...*sigh* I love her! I really miss my little girlies when I'm not home! Alright...I'm off to read! I'm really thinking of joining the lj community where you are challenged to read 50 books in a year..I think I could do it!
